In line with the Currimjee Group’s aim to build a better today & tomorrow for future generations, Trampoline serves as a launchpad for social enterprises by focusing on developing and scaling up their growth.

Our programmes have been designed to provide social entrepreneurs with access to methodologies, training, mentorship programmes, industry insights, and a networking community to guide them throughout their journey.

Through the Currimjee Group’s extensive networks, Trampoline provides industry-specific expertise through business mentors from a range of organisations, rigorous analytical support, and prepares social enterprises to access capital and customers.

How our startup incubator Mauritius began

The history of the Currimjee Group is intricately linked to that of our nation. Since the very beginning, entrepreneurship has been part of the family’s DNA, making the group an active participant in Mauritius’ evolution from a mono-crop economy to the resilient and diversified one we see today. In its wish to support entrepreneurship, the Group set up a fund of MUR 125M with the aim of contributing to a sustainable entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem to benefit the Mauritian society at large. Trampoline is the first initiative from this fund. It is a not-for-profit company with the ambition to create and support opportunities in the social-entrepreneurship space.

What sets Trampoline apart as a startup incubator Mauritius entrepreneurs turn to is the depth of support behind every programme. Rather than a one-off grant or a short workshop, founders get sustained access to mentors, funders, and corporate partners drawn from the wider Currimjee Group network, so ideas are tested against real market feedback from day one. Each cohort works through a structured methodology that moves a venture from early concept to a business model ready for outside capital, with milestones, coaching sessions, and peer accountability built in along the way.

 

Because Trampoline is not-for-profit, the incentives stay aligned with founders rather than investors: the goal is a resilient, diversified entrepreneurial ecosystem in Mauritius, not a quick exit. That focus has shaped everything from how cohorts are selected to how success is measured, prioritising ventures that create lasting local impact alongside commercial viability. It’s an approach built on 125 years of the Currimjee Group’s presence in Mauritius, channelled into a fund designed specifically to back the next generation of social entrepreneurs.

 

Trampoline’s team combines operators, investors, and industry specialists who have each built or backed ventures of their own, so founders get feedback grounded in practical experience rather than theory alone. Board members and programme champions stay closely involved between formal sessions, checking in on progress and opening doors to the partners a growing social enterprise needs. That continuity, paired with a clear methodology and a genuinely long-term view, is what makes Trampoline more than a typical accelerator programme in the region.

ARIF CURRIMJEE

Founder of ABANA & INAM, Director of Currimjee Ltd,
Chairman of Trampoline Ltée

Arif is a passionate entrepreneur in the textile industry. He managed a large vertically integrated knitwear company with factories in Mauritius and Madagascar supplying industry leading retailers. Subsequently, he built a premium knitwear solution network connecting small and medium-sized factories in the region with sophisticated European brands and created a cashmere brand with a unique made-to-order e-commerce concept. ABANA, his latest venture, is a digital platform with the ambition to illuminate the African textile & apparel ecosystem. Arif is the current President of the Mauritius Exporters Association (MEXA) and a past President of the Joint Economic Council, the apex body of the Mauritian Private Sector. He studied at Williams College, the London School of Economics & McGill University.

AVINASH RUGOOBUR

Co-founder, CEO of Enhance, Board Member of Trampoline Ltée

Avinash Rugoobur is a global entrepreneur and innovation leader with deep experience in building and scaling ventures across industries. As former President of Arrival, he led the company’s strategy, international expansion, and landmark Nasdaq listing. With a background spanning Silicon Valley, Europe, and Asia, Avinash has played a key role in major innovation milestones, including GM’s acquisition of Cruise Autonomous and the development of startup–corporate ecosystems. He has also launched and scaled multiple ventures across sectors such as mobility, digital health, and consumer brands. Passionate about driving impact through entrepreneurship, Avinash actively supports early- stage ventures, advises organisations on innovation strategy, and contributes to building thriving startup ecosystems globally.

VANESHA PAREEMAMUN

Chief Human Resource Officer of Currimjee Jeewanjee & Co Ltd, Board Member of Trampoline Ltée

Vanesha is the Chief Human Resource Officer of Currimjee Jeewanjee & Co Ltd (CJ & Co Ltd). She has more than 18 years of experience in HR and Organisational Development and has worked for the CIM Group as Group Head of HR for 4 years and as Head of HR for Cim Finance for 4 years. She also worked as an economist for 10 years with the Ministry of Economic Development. She holds a BSc in Economics and Management from the University of Cardiff, UK, and an MBA with specialisation in Human Resource Management from the University of Mauritius. She is a Member of the Mauritius Institute of Directors and is currently a Director on a number of companies in the Currimjee Group.

JAMES VAN DER WESTHUIZEN

Startup and Scaleup Coach, Board Member of Trampoline Ltée

James is an experienced startup and scaleup coach from South Africa. Founder of KnowHouse and PeoplePower, he brings a strong knowledge of entrepreneurship as well as experience in coaching impact startups and designing meaningful business development programs.

Innovation and Partnerships Lead at Trampoline Ltée

Antish Aubeelock is the Innovation and Partnerships Lead at Trampoline, where he works at the intersection of entrepreneurship, corporate innovation, and ecosystem development, designing and implementing programs that connect startups, corporates, and institutions to pilot solutions addressing real market challenges. He holds a Master’s degree in Creativity: Innovation & Business Strategy from the University of Exeter as a Chevening Scholar, a Bachelor’s degree in Banking & International Finance, and has passed CFA Level I. Antish is also a Mandela Washington Fellow under the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI). Prior to joining Trampoline, he worked as a Digital Product & Innovation Specialist at Cim Finance Ltd, contributing to product development and digital transformation initiatives, and as an Investment & Trade Officer at the UK Department for International Trade, where he supported British companies exploring trade and investment opportunities in Mauritius.He holds a Master’s degree in Creativity: Innovation & Business Strategy from the University of Exeter as a Chevening Scholar, a Bachelor’s degree in Banking & International Finance, and has passed CFA Level I. Sophie is an enthusiastic entrepreneur with over 10 years of experience in planning, leading, and improving non-governmental projects and organisations. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences with a major in Anthropology and is a certified Coach (Hedo-Coach & Copilot’in). Sophie was previously Project Coordinator at Chrysalide, where she federated sex workers around their human rights. Together, they co-founded Parapli Rouz. With her team, Sophie set up and ran the newly founded NGO, overcoming many challenges, securing international funding, and meeting objectives rapidly. After supporting the early-stage development of Parapli Rouz, she supported the capacity building of various social enterprises through coaching and mentoring. Sophie joined Trampoline in April 2021, with the mission to design, launch and operationalise the initiative.

Julia holds a BA in Visual Communication from The Arts University of Bournemouth and a Master’s in Design Management from Northumbria University, where she explored how design thinking can drive social innovation and human sustainability in Mauritius. She began her career in graphic design, working with agencies and freelancing in branding before shifting to impact-led initiatives. In 2020, she joined Small Step Matters, Mauritius’ first social crowdfunding platform, where she led website redesigns, built CSR partnerships, and implemented creative fundraising solutions. Julia joined Trampoline in March 2024 to lead ideation workshops, foster ecosystem connections, and support the development of innovative projects. With her background in design, communication, and project coordination, she is committed to building a thriving impact innovation ecosystem in Mauritius.

LEILA VEERASAMY

Specialist in Sustainable Supply Chains at Trampoline Ltée, Board Member of Trampoline Ltée

Leila is the former sustainability champion at Quality Beverages, a leading FMCG company in Mauritius part of the Currimjee Jeewanjee Group where she led the sustainability strategy of the company centered on managing natural resources, creating positive social impact by supporting non-profit organisations, and promoting circular solutions with waste management and plastic pollution awareness. Following a Bachelor of Arts in Development Studies and Economics from Brown University, Leila moved to India to work in impact investing. While in Mumbai, she founded a sustainable swimwear business with a focus on body-positive designs and ethical supply chain. Following Covid, she then became Chief of Staff at a tech startup in Paris to democratize sustainable fashion by addressing issues of distribution in the second-hand market. While her current focus is on building circular solutions to supply chains in the consumer-packaged goods sector, Leila remains passionate about advising startups and entrepreneurs dedicated to tackling global social problems.

SAMIR CURRIMJEE

Master’s Student, Erasmus University Rotterdam, Board Member of Trampoline Ltée

Samir Currimjee holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics and Business Economics and a Master’s in Economics at Erasmus University Rotterdam. His experience in the startup ecosystem spans various roles, including operations growth at Gorillas GmbH, a decentralized grocery delivery platform, and strategy development at WORCK, an advanced recruitment platform. Beyond his involvement in startups, Samir has worked in supply chain and logistics, optimizing contract farming networks for Socolait, Madagascar’s largest fresh dairy producer. Currently, he is a research assistant at the Centre for Urban, Port, and Transport Economic, Rotterdam. As a fifth-generation member of the Currimjee family, Samir’s upbringing has been shaped by strong values and principles passed down through generations—perspectives he brings to every discussion.

NAIM CURRIMJEE

Program Champion at Trampoline Ltée

Naim is an emerging professional working at the intersection of sustainability, entrepreneurship, and innovation, with a focus on developing practical solutions to environmental challenges. He holds a BA in Psychology from Reed College, where his research explored learning mechanisms in plant behavior, and a MSc in Sustainability, Entrepreneurship &; Innovation from ESCP Business School . Naim first worked with Trampoline early in his career, contributing to the launch of its incubation activities. This experience sparked his interest in sustainability and entrepreneurship, leading him to further specialise in the field through his master’s studies. He has since developed a strong interest in applying entrepreneurial approaches to address complex environmental challenges, particularly within circular economy systems. Naim joined Trampoline in 2025 to support the design and implementation of its venture-clienting program that connects entrepreneurs with corporate partners to co-develop and pilot solutions. He is currently involved in Jumpstart, where he contributes to shaping the plastic waste challenge and supporting the development of solutions adapted to the Mauritian context.

Fondateur d’ABANA & INAM, Directeur de Currimjee Ltd.

Arif est un entrepreneur passionné par l’industrie textile. Il a géré une grande entreprise de tricotage intégrée avec des usines à l’île Maurice et à Madagascar, approvisionnant les principaux détaillants de l’industrie. Par la suite, il a érigé un réseau de solutions de tricotage haut de gamme mettant en relation les petites et moyennes usines de la région avec des marques européennes haut de gamme. Il a enfin créé une marque de cachemire exclusivement distribuée en ligne. ABANA, sa dernière entreprise, est une plateforme numérique dont l’ambition est de rendre accessibles les écosystèmes africains du textile et de l’habillement. Arif est l’actuel président de la Mauritius Exporters Association (MEXA) et un ancien président du Conseil économique interentreprises, organisme principal du secteur privé mauricien. Il a étudié au Williams College, à la London School of Economics et à l’Université McGill.

Antish is a Chevening Alumnus with more than 5 years of experience in product development, business development, and marketing. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Banking & International Finance, passed CFA Level 1 and holds a Master’s Degree in Creativity: Innovation & Business Strategy. Antish held the position of Digital Product & Innovation Specialist at Cim Finance Ltd, working in close collaboration with Group CEO and external consultants. He has also worked on several projects in the UK, including developing an innovative business model for an incubator/creative hub rooted in sustainability and inclusivity. Antish joined Trampoline in August 2021, with the mission to support the Lead Executive in the operational implementation of Trampoline's programme, ensuring the quality of services and respect of deadlines.
